Tayco Building Products Ltd was established in 1985 by Philip Taylor who, after a fifteen year career in the sale of doors for two leading national door manufacturers, recognised that there was a gap in the market for the supply of pre manufactured door lining sets. At this time Tayco produced standard door lining sets for the builders merchants market. At the start of the nineties Tayco began to supply bespoke door lining sets in increasing numbers to building contractors and housing developers across the South West.

At the start of the new millennium Will Taylor joined the company, with responsibility for production and procurement, leading to the installation of a machining facility in new premises on our site in Wellington, Somerset. Greater flexibility and quality control of production was achieved by this expansion.

In 2006, Tayco were accredited to BS EN I.S.O. 9001-2000 and joined the British Woodworking Federation’s Certifire scheme for the manufacture of fire door linings. Tayco also gained Local Authority Building Control Type Approval at this time.
